Synopsis
A mother’s experiments on her own daughter; obsessive dreams about Carl Jung; a murder mystery novel revealing a dark secret: when writer Merve Emre starts to investigate the history of America’s obsession with personality tests, she has no idea how strange it will get.
And these things are not just in the past; they continue to have real-world impacts on the lives of millions of people today.
Persona: The Dark Truth Behind Personality Tests exposes a civilisation addicted to the self, a job market rife with covert bias and a world in which people are forced to present themselves as ‘personalities’, all wrapped up in the dream of two women to engineer a different world through the science of personality.
